Kids party rentals in Kensington, California

Serving Kensington & the Berkeley hills

Kids Party Rentals in Kensington

Kensington is a small, unincorporated hillside community tucked between Berkeley, El Cerrito and Tilden Regional Park. Streets wind and narrow, many homes are reached by steps, and a level stretch of yard can be hard to find. Our rentals include bounce houses, soft play, ball pits and kids tables and chairs, and we take care of delivery, setup and pickup, which matters on roads where carrying equipment uphill is real work.

What party space looks like in Kensington

Most Kensington homes were built into the slope, so backyards tend to be stepped, wooded or partly given over to decks with views toward the bay. A patch of flat lawn big enough for an inflatable is the exception rather than the rule. Before choosing anything, walk the property and note the largest level surface, whether that is a patio, a deck or a driveway pad.

Some families find the house itself is the best venue, with a living room or garage cleared for toddler play. Others look to Kensington Park beside the community center on Arlington Avenue, which has a playground and some open ground. Either way, the shape of the site should come first and the equipment list second.

Picking Kensington rentals that fit a stepped lot

Soft play and ball pits are usually the easiest fit in Kensington because they sit on any firm, flat surface and do not need much clearance. They work indoors in a cleared room, on a sturdy deck with railings, or on a patio. For one- and two-year-olds they are often a better match than an inflatable anyway, since the play stays low and contained.

When there is enough level ground for a bounce house, a compact castle is the realistic choice on most lots. Larger combo units with slides need a long, open run that few hillside yards offer, so save those for a park or a flatter property. Kids-size tables and chairs fold into small spaces and help define an eating area on a narrow patio.

Access, parking and weather in Kensington

Getting equipment from the truck to the yard is the main planning step here. Many houses sit above or below the street with long flights of stairs, and curbside parking on the narrower roads is limited, especially on weekends when neighbors are home. Tell us about stairs, slopes and the closest spot a vehicle can stop so we can plan the carry.

Inflatables need a level base and a power outlet nearby, so check whether your outdoor outlet reaches the setup area or whether an extension run is needed. The hills can catch both fog and afternoon wind, while yards tucked behind the house stay calmer. Because Kensington is unincorporated, questions about using the park go to the local community services district rather than a city office.

Good to know

Kensington party rental questions

Our Kensington house has a long staircase from the street. Can you still deliver?

Usually, yes. Stairs change which items make sense, since some inflatables are heavy and bulky to carry. Let us know how many steps there are and how wide the path is when you book. Soft play, ball pits and kids tables and chairs are far easier to bring up a staircase than a large bounce house.

Many Kensington homes have a deck but no flat lawn. What fits on a deck?

Soft play sets, ball pits and kids tables and chairs are good deck options, provided the surface is solid and has a railing around the edges. Inflatables are not a good fit for most decks because they need secure anchoring and plenty of clearance on all sides.

Is Kensington Park an option for a kids party?

It can be, since it offers a playground and some open ground close to Arlington Avenue. Because the area is unincorporated, ask the Kensington community services district about using the space. If you are planning an inflatable there, confirm where the nearest power is or plan on a generator.

How much is delivery to Kensington?

Delivery to Kensington is $80. You are about 15.7 miles from our Oakland warehouse, and that falls inside our flat-rate zone, so the fee is the same $80 whether you book one item or a full setup. The fee covers the round trip, setup when we arrive and collection afterwards. It is calculated from your exact address at checkout, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.

Is setup included, or do I put it up myself?

Setup is included. We deliver to your Kensington address, position and set up everything, and come back to collect it at the end of your window. You do not assemble anything, and there is no separate labour charge.

How far ahead should I book?

Online bookings need at least 7 days of notice, and you can book up to 12 months ahead. In practice Kensington weekends in spring and summer go early, so booking three to six weeks out gives you the best choice of dates and items. Nothing is held without a deposit, so the date is only yours once that is paid.

What deposit do you take, and what if I need to cancel?

A 50% deposit and a signed rental agreement reserve your items. The balance is due one week before the event, and bookings made inside that week are paid in full up front. If you need to move the date for weather, illness or anything else, your payment transfers to the new date subject to availability. If you cancel outright, the payment becomes in-house credit you can use for up to 18 months.

Can I choose an exact delivery time?

Standard delivery and collection are one-hour arrival windows, which lets us route the day's Kensington runs efficiently. If your venue or party schedule needs a precise time, you can add a guaranteed exact-time slot for $100 at checkout and we build the route around it.

Can I keep the rentals overnight?

Yes. Same-day collection is standard, and an overnight or next-morning pickup is $75. It is worth considering for an evening party in Kensington, since it takes the pressure off the end of the event and we collect the following day instead.

Which parts of Kensington do you cover?

All of Kensington, including Arlington Avenue, Colusa Circle, Amherst Avenue and Coventry Road, plus the surrounding East Bay. The delivery fee is the same across the city, so where you are inside Kensington does not change the price.
