Yards range from small and flat to terraced, and the wind off the Carquinez Strait is part of everyday life. Party space around Rodeo

The older streets near Parker Avenue have modest houses on small lots, where a backyard might hold one play feature and a short row of tables. Many of these properties are close to flat, which helps, but the space is tight. A driveway or a carport can extend the usable area when it is cleared of cars for the afternoon.

On the hillsides, including the Viewpointe neighborhood, homes look out over the bay and yards are more likely to slope or step down in levels. In those places the most useful setup area is often a patio right off the house. Larger gatherings sometimes move to public open space such as the Lefty Gomez ballfield area or the shoreline at Lone Tree Point.

Choosing rentals for a Rodeo home

Because wind and space both matter here, many Rodeo families lean toward compact options. A small castle bounce house fits a modest yard and presents less surface to the breeze than a tall combo unit, which makes it easier to keep stable. A combo with a slide is best saved for a sheltered, roomy lawn.

Soft play and ball pits are dependable in any weather because they work indoors as easily as outdoors, which makes them a good backup plan on a gusty day. For tables, kids-size sets fit small patios and garages, and a few regular chairs give teens and adults a place to sit apart from the toddlers.

Wind, slopes and street access in Rodeo

Afternoon wind through the Carquinez Strait can be strong, so an early start and a setup spot shielded by the house or a fence are worth planning around. If gusts build during the party, inflatables have to be deflated, so it helps to have another activity ready, such as soft play or a craft table.

On the hillside streets, tell us whether the setup area is above or below the street and how steep the path is. In the older part of town, parking is mostly along the curb, so a clear space out front on party morning makes unloading easier. Every inflatable needs a level base and a nearby outlet, or a generator away from the house.

Good to know

Rodeo party rental questions

How does Rodeo's wind affect a bounce house rental?

Wind is the main weather concern in Rodeo, especially in the afternoon. Choose a spot sheltered by the house or a fence, consider starting earlier in the day, and keep an indoor-friendly option on hand. If the wind turns strong, an inflatable should be taken down until it calms.

Our Rodeo yard is very small. What can we rent?

Soft play, a ball pit and kids tables and chairs fit into small yards, patios and garages without much clearance. A compact bounce house can also work if you have a level area a little larger than its footprint. Measure the space and the path from the street before you book.

Is there public open space in Rodeo for a party?

Rodeo is unincorporated, so public spaces are managed by Contra Costa County or local districts rather than a city. Areas such as the Lefty Gomez ballfield and the shoreline at Lone Tree Point have open ground, but ask the managing agency about using them, and plan on a generator for inflatables.

How much is delivery to Rodeo?

Delivery to Rodeo is $104. You are about 26 miles from our Oakland warehouse, and our rate is $80 flat within 20 miles then $4 a mile after that. The fee covers the round trip, setup when we arrive and collection afterwards. It is calculated from your exact address at checkout, so the figure you see is the figure you pay.

Is setup included, or do I put it up myself?

Setup is included. We deliver to your Rodeo address, position and set up everything, and come back to collect it at the end of your window. You do not assemble anything, and there is no separate labour charge.

How far ahead should I book?

Online bookings need at least 7 days of notice, and you can book up to 12 months ahead. In practice Rodeo weekends in spring and summer go early, so booking three to six weeks out gives you the best choice of dates and items. Nothing is held without a deposit, so the date is only yours once that is paid.

What deposit do you take, and what if I need to cancel?

A 50% deposit and a signed rental agreement reserve your items. The balance is due one week before the event, and bookings made inside that week are paid in full up front. If you need to move the date for weather, illness or anything else, your payment transfers to the new date subject to availability. If you cancel outright, the payment becomes in-house credit you can use for up to 18 months.

Can I choose an exact delivery time?

Standard delivery and collection are one-hour arrival windows, which lets us route the day's Rodeo runs efficiently. If your venue or party schedule needs a precise time, you can add a guaranteed exact-time slot for $100 at checkout and we build the route around it.

Can I keep the rentals overnight?

Yes. Same-day collection is standard, and an overnight or next-morning pickup is $75. It is worth considering for an evening party in Rodeo, since it takes the pressure off the end of the event and we collect the following day instead.

Which parts of Rodeo do you cover?

All of Rodeo, including Parker Avenue, Viewpointe and Lone Tree Point area, plus the surrounding East Bay. The delivery fee is the same across the city, so where you are inside Rodeo does not change the price.
